The Signposts: read your own system
Futures · Foresight — a self-read, not a certificate
Six dials for reading which of three institutional paths an AI-mediated decision system is on: Accountable, Ceremonial, or Sealed. You read your own system, dial by dial. The instrument reflects your inputs back as a structured reading — it does not grade you, and it confers no standing.
How the marks work
Accountable — form and substance both hold
Ceremonial — the form survives, the substance has left
Sealed — the form itself is removed, waived, or hidden
Each pair is form (the checkpoint, the rule, the record — is it there?) and substance (does the control behind it actually work?). Ceremonial is the deceptive middle: it looks like Accountable and functions like Sealed.

Your reading
A self-read, on your own inputs
This is what you read. It is not a certification, a score, or a compliance status — the Institute confers none of those. It is your own reading, made legible.

This is a snapshot. A single reading tells you where the dials sit today; the signal is which way they move. Read your system again in six months and compare. The dials that drift — not the ones that sit still — are the ones telling you which path is being built.Copy my readingPrint / save as PDF

The instrument keeps nothing. If you want a record of this reading, you keep it — copy or print it now.
What this reading is not. It is not an audit, a certification, or a statement that your system is or is not accountable. The Synthocracy Institute holds no standing to confer that, and this tool asserts none. Several dials cannot be read with certainty from the outside; a dial you cannot read is itself a finding, not a passing grade. Treat this as a structured way to look, not a verdict.
Companion to Signposts: How to Tell Which Agentic State We Are Actually Building and Three Paths for the Agentic State, 2026–2030. Each dial has a full deep read — the record, the human at the point of decision, the stop, the right to know you were routed, agent identity, and the deadline. Foresight, held to a foresight standard: falsifiable, dated, meant to be re-read.
